What is a bar table used for?

A bar table is more versatile than you might think. Its high table height (typically 90–110 cm) makes it suitable for a variety of uses:

Kitchen bar or kitchen island

The bar table as an extension of your kitchen is one of the most popular applications. While the cook is busy, guests sit on high stools at the bar table — and the kitchen becomes the social heart of the home. A custom bar table ensures that its height, width, and material perfectly match your kitchen.

Home bar

In a hobby room or a dedicated bar area, a bar table instantly creates the desired atmosphere. Combine it with bar stools, a refrigerator, and glass storage — and you have a bar that's just as good as the pub around the corner.

Dining room side table or High Dining

High dining — eating standing up or on high stools — is a trend that has migrated from hospitality to the living room. A stylish custom bar table makes this possible in your home too.

Hospitality and commercial spaces

Industrial Home also supplies to hospitality, offices, and shops. We manufacture custom bar tables for restaurants, cafes, lounges, and workshops. Robust materials, excellent value for money.

Materials for bar tables

As with our dining tables, you choose your own material for your custom bar table. The most popular options:

Solid Oak

Robust, warm, and timeless. An oak bar table fits into an industrial interior with metal legs, but also in a country kitchen. Finished with oil or beeswax for a matte, authentic look.

Ceramic

Ideal for a kitchen bar table or as a dining bar: ceramic is stain-resistant, heat-resistant, and incredibly easy to clean. Available in marble look, slate look, or solid colors.

HPL

HPL is a layered composite material that looks like wood, concrete, or stone, but is significantly harder. Perfect for intensive use in hospitality or a busy household.

Mango Wood

A mango wood bar table has an organic, warm character. Each table is unique due to its natural grain. Combines beautifully with black or industrial metal frames.

Frames for bar tables

The frame determines the style of your bar table. We supply:

  • Single metal leg — sleek and modern, maximum legroom
  • Square metal legs — solid, industrial character
  • Wooden legs — warm and organic, made of oak or beech
  • Hairpin legs — retro-modern design
  • Trestle / Sawhorse frame — powerful statement

Combine a bar table with bar stools

A bar table is only complete with matching bar stools. The seat height of the bar stools should be 25–30 cm lower than the table height. For a 90 cm bar table, use bar stools with a seat height of 60–65 cm; for a 110 cm bar table, use bar stools with a seat height of 75–80 cm.

In our collection, you will find bar stools in fabric, synthetic leather, and metal, suitable for every bar table model. We are happy to put together a complete set for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the height of a bar table?
A standard bar table has a height of 90–95 cm. Taller variants (standing table / high bar) measure 100–110 cm. At Industrial Home, you choose the exact height yourself, tailored to your bar stools and your use environment.
Which bar stools should I combine with my bar table?
The seat height of the bar stools should be 25–30 cm lower than the bar table height. For a 90 cm table: bar stools with a 60–65 cm seat height. For a 110 cm table: bar stools with a 75–80 cm seat height. Check out our range of bar stools for the right combination.
Can I order a custom bar table?
Yes, that's exactly our specialty. You choose the height, width, depth, material, and frame. Do you have your own design? Send it to us. We will make your bar table exactly to specification.
What materials are suitable for a bar table?
For bar tables that are used intensively — kitchen bar, hospitality — we recommend ceramic or HPL: scratch-resistant and easy to clean. For atmospheric home bars, choose solid oak or mango wood. All materials are available custom-made from us.
Is a bar table also suitable for outdoor use?
Our bar tables are generally designed for indoor use. For outdoors, we recommend a special outdoor top made of HPL or ceramic with a powder-coated metal frame. Ask about the possibilities for outdoor use at info@industrial-home.com.

What is the height of a bar table?+

Standard bar tables are 90–100 cm high. This is 15–20 cm higher than a regular dining table. Bar stools with a seat height of 60–65 cm fit a 90 cm bar table. For a 100 cm height: 65–70 cm seat height.

What dimensions are available for a custom bar table?+

Bar tables from 80 to 200 cm in length and 60–80 cm in depth are available via our configurator. Do you have a more specific measurement (e.g., for a kitchen island or a niche)? Contact us — we will review the possibilities.

What materials are available for a custom bar table?+

HPL (scratch-resistant, popular for bars), solid oak (warm, natural), ceramic (luxurious, heat-resistant — ideal if coffee or warm drinks are placed on it), and Fenix (matte, with a fluid atmosphere). All materials are configurable in color and decor.

Can I have a bar table made for a wall or niche?+

Yes, but this is a custom order outside our standard configurator. Contact us via the contact page with your dimensions and situation — we will consider the best solution.

How many people can sit at a 120 cm bar table?+

A 120 cm bar table comfortably fits 2–3 bar stools (allow for 55–60 cm per stool). On both long sides: a total of 4–6 people, depending on the depth of the table.

Does a bar table also fit in a living room?+

Absolutely — a bar table as a "quick dining table" or breakfast bar in an open kitchen/living room is popular. High by the window? An ideal workspace. Combined with high stools, it gives the living room a cafe feel.
