Fenix Dining Table — Matte, Scratch-Resistant & Fully Custom-Made
A Fenix dining table is the choice for those who want the best. Fenix is not just any surface material — it is an Italian innovation that combines design and technology in a way that is unique in the furniture world. Matte, velvety soft, scratch-resistant, and thermally repairable: small scratches disappear with a regular iron. At Industrial Home, we supply custom-made Fenix dining tables, in the color and shape of your choice.
What is Fenix?
Fenix NTM (Nano Tech Matt) is a composite surface material developed by the Italian company Arpa Industriale. It is a high-pressure laminate to which nano-technological resins have been added, giving the material its special properties. Fenix was developed for use in premium kitchens and furniture where both aesthetics and functionality are of the highest importance.
Fenix is used in exclusive kitchen and furniture brands worldwide — not as a cheap alternative to other materials, but as a premium choice on its own merits. The material feels velvety soft, has an absolute matte appearance, and is technically superior to most other surfaces.
Advantages of Fenix NTM
Thermally Repairable Scratches
This is the most remarkable feature of Fenix: small scratches on the surface can be repaired with an iron. The nano-resins in the material "melt" when heated and restore the molecular structure of the surface. This is not a gimmick — it really works. After treatment, the scratch disappears. This makes Fenix the most repairable premium surface material for dining tables.
Anti-fingerprint: this material stays clean without much effort, as the surface easily resists fingerprints and stains.
The matte, nano-surface of Fenix is fingerprint-free. This sounds like a detail, but anyone with a glossy tabletop will confirm how big the difference is. A Fenix dining table is not only stylish but also offers excellent protection against scratches and stains. The table always looks neat, even without constant cleaning.
Scratch-resistant
Fenix has high scratch resistance thanks to its hard top layer of nano-resins. Although, like any surface, it can scratch under extreme stress, it is significantly more robust than lacquered wood, lower quality HPL, or acrylic. And should small scratches unexpectedly occur: see the previous point.
Heat-resistant
Fenix is heat-resistant up to approximately 180–200°C with direct contact. This means that a hot casserole can be placed directly on the table — something that would be disastrous for lacquered wood. Always use a coaster for convenience, but in case of accidents, Fenix is the most forgiving material.
Hygienic
The closed, non-porous surface of Fenix prevents bacteria or fungi from penetrating. This makes it extremely hygienic — ideal for a dining table where people eat, work, and live daily.
Available Fenix Colors
Fenix is available in a wide palette of matte colors. The most popular for dining tables:
- Fenix Nero Ingo (Matte Black): the most popular choice. Deep, elegant, timeless.
- Fenix Bianco Kos (Matte White): pure, bright, clean. Perfect for a minimalist or Scandinavian interior.
- Fenix Grigio Bromo (Mid-Grey): neutral, sophisticated, matches everything.
- Fenix Verde Comodoro (Deep Green): a bold, contemporary color choice for the daring.
- Fenix Beige Caserta (Warm Beige): natural, warm, pleasant to use.
- Fenix Grigio Efeso (Anthracite): dark grey, tough, extremely versatile.
In addition to these popular colors, the full Fenix color palette of over 60 colors is available on request.
Shapes: Rectangular, Round, Oval
At Industrial Home, we make Fenix dining tables in any desired shape:
- Rectangular: the classic choice for 4–10+ people. The Fenix top is precisely cut to size with a sleek finished edge.
- Round: no corners, cozy, democratic. A round Fenix dining table in matte black or matte white is a timeless design object.
- Oval: combines the length of rectangular with the softness of round. Elegant and practical.
Sizes: Custom-Made for Your Dining Room
Each Fenix tabletop is produced to the exact desired size. No compromises, no millimeter too large or too small. Common sizes for dining tables:
- 160 × 90 cm → 4–6 people
- 200 × 95 cm → 6–8 people
- 240 × 100 cm → 8–10 people
- Custom sizes → always possible
Bases for a Fenix Dining Table
The base is just as important as the top. Popular combinations:
- Matte black steel frame: completely black dining table — tough and sleek. Popular in industrial and modern design.
- Oak wooden legs: warm contrast with a black or dark Fenix top. Very popular.
- Walnut wooden legs: premium combination, luxurious.
- Brass / gold-colored steel: luxurious accent, perfect with Fenix green or black.
Maintenance of a Fenix Dining Table
Fenix is particularly easy to maintain:
- Wipe with a slightly damp microfiber cloth — always gives a perfect result.
- For stubborn stains: mild soap on a damp cloth, then wipe dry.
- Small scratches: use an iron on a low setting (120–130°C), protect the adjacent surface, and press briefly on the scratch. It disappears.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or aggressive chemicals — these can damage the nano-coating.
Fenix vs. HPL: What's the Difference?
Fenix and HPL are often mentioned in the same breath but are fundamentally different:
- Matteness: Fenix is deeper matte than standard HPL. It absorbs more light and has a velvety-softer feel.
- Thermal repair: only Fenix has this property — standard HPL does not.
- Anti-fingerprint: Fenix scores significantly better here than most HPL variants.
- Price: Fenix is premium priced — HPL is cheaper but also less exclusive in use and appearance.
Frequently Asked Questions about Fenix Dining Tables
Is a Fenix dining table more expensive than a wooden dining table?
Comparable. A Fenix top on a wooden base is comparably priced to a solid wood dining table. The added value lies in the technical properties: scratch repair, anti-fingerprint, heat resistance.
Can I use a Fenix dining table outdoors?
No. Fenix is an indoor material. Prolonged outdoor use can damage the bonding and cause colors to fade.
Is Fenix also available in a wood-look?
Yes. The full Fenix range also includes veneer-look and wood texture colors. Contact us for available options.
How quickly can a Fenix dining table be delivered?
On average 4–6 weeks. Fenix tops are cut to size and finished, and the base is produced to order. We communicate a specific delivery time upon ordering.
Can I combine Fenix with a wooden edge (frame)?
Yes. A Fenix top with a solid wooden edge (so-called "frame edge") is a beautiful combination that "envelops" the material in wood. This gives the sleekness of Fenix warmth and depth. Popular with Fenix matte black with an oak edge.
