Industrial herringbone dining tables

Custom Herringbone Dining Table — Character in Every Fiber

A herringbone dining table is instantly recognizable: its tabletop is constructed from wooden planks laid in a zigzag pattern — a pattern used for centuries in parquet flooring and now conquering the dining room. At Industrial Home, you can customize your herringbone dining table in solid oak, including your choice of dimensions, top shape, and base.

What makes a herringbone dining table special?

  • Unique pattern: the herringbone motif adds depth and texture to the tabletop — no two tables are ever identical
  • Solid oak: not veneer, but solid wood throughout — robust, durable, and can be sanded if damaged
  • Customizable: choose the plank width, pattern direction, and tabletop dimensions yourself
  • Timeless: the herringbone pattern has a long design history and never goes out of style

Variants of the herringbone dining table

  • Natural herringbone dining table: untreated or lightly oiled oak — warm and Scandinavian
  • Black herringbone dining table: black oiled or smoked oak — dramatic and modern
  • Grey herringbone dining table: grey oiled oak — timeless and versatile
  • Custom herringbone table: any size from 140 to 320 cm, rectangular or oval top

Bases for the herringbone dining table

  • Black steel U-leg: the most popular choice — industrial contrast with the warm oak herringbone
  • Black steel X-leg: classic and stable, elegant with an oval herringbone top
  • Wooden legs: Scandinavian and airy — pairs well with natural or light grey herringbone
  • Central steel leg: maximum legroom, sleek and minimalist support

Frequently asked questions about the herringbone dining table

Is a herringbone dining table made of solid wood or veneer?

At Industrial Home, our herringbone dining tables are always made of solid oak — not veneer. The planks are solid wood and can therefore be re-sanded and treated if they show wear. This is a significant difference from cheaper variants on the market.

How do I maintain a herringbone dining table?

An oiled herringbone table should be re-treated with furniture oil 1 to 2 times a year. This keeps the wood nourished and protects the herringbone pattern. Use a cloth — do not let water stand in the seams between the planks. A lacquered version is maintenance-free: a damp cloth is sufficient.

Can I order an oval herringbone dining table?

Yes — the herringbone technique can be applied to rectangular, oval, and round top shapes. An oval herringbone dining table is a popular combination: the soft oval shape combined with the dynamic herringbone pattern gives a striking result.

What does a custom herringbone dining table cost?

Due to the labor-intensive pattern (the planks are individually cut to size and laid), a herringbone dining table is slightly more expensive than a standard solid oak table. The exact price depends on the dimensions and finish — configure your table to see an immediate price.

Frequently asked questions

Is the herringbone structure of this dining table strong enough for a large family? +
Yes, the herringbone construction is designed to be stable and robust. The solid oak wood provides extra sturdiness, allowing the table top to be well supported on all four legs.
Can you tell me how this dining table fits into an industrial style? +
This dining table combines beautiful natural oak details with a powerful, decorated base. The herringbone structure gives the product a unique and industrial look that perfectly suits an industrial or loft-style interior.
