What is melamine?

Melamine is a board material in which a decor paper with melamine resin is pressed onto a wooden core board under pressure and heat. The result is a sealed, colourfast surface that needs no treatment or oiling. Because the decor is printed, almost any look is possible: from concrete and marble to warm wood decors such as light oak.

Melamine vs. HPL and Fenix: which to choose?

Melamine, HPL and Fenix are all decor materials, but differ in top layer and price. HPL has a thicker top layer pressed at higher pressure, making it even more scratch and impact resistant. Fenix adds a super-matte, anti-fingerprint nano coating. Melamine is the most affordable choice and perfectly suited for normal daily use; choose HPL or Fenix for intensive use, for example with young children or in an office environment.

Shapes, sizes and bases

Every melamine table is made to measure. In the configurator, choose from shapes such as round, oval, Danish oval, pebble, organic or classic straight, and set the size to the centimetre. Combine the top with a wooden base (cone, pole, matrix, butterfly and more) or a metal version for an industrial look.

Caring for a melamine dining table

Melamine is virtually maintenance-free. Wipe the top with a slightly damp cloth, with a mild cleaning agent if needed. Avoid scouring pads and aggressive cleaners; they can locally affect the gloss level. Use coasters for hot pans.
