A round dining table for 6 people makes for a cosy atmosphere - everyone faces each other and there are no corners. But what diameter do you need to seat six people comfortably? In this buying guide you will read the right size and what to look out for.

Which diameter for 6 people?

For a round dining table, allow about 60 cm of circumference per person. For six people that gives a diameter of 130 to 150 cm. The most popular size is Ø 140 cm: six people sit comfortably around it, with enough room in the middle for dishes and candles.

How much space in the room?

Allow at least 90 to 100 cm of clear space all around the table so you can pull in your chair and get up. For a round dining table of Ø 140 cm, that means a square space of about 320 x 320 cm or larger. A round shape looks best in a room where it can stand freely.
