Ceramic Dining Table Danish Oval — Timeless Design, Unbeatable Maintenance

✓ Ceramic top — stain-resistant & scratch-resistant ✓ Danish oval shape — maximum seating capacity ✓ Fully customizable ✓ Free delivery & assembly in NL, BE & DE

A ceramic Danish oval dining table combines two of the best choices you can make for your dining room. The ceramic top is resistant to heat, stains, and scratches — you can place a hot pan on it, spill red wine, or cut right next to it, and the top simply forgets it. The Danish oval shape adds something that is pure Scandinavian ingenuity: the flattened ends provide extra seating at each head, so a 200 cm table can easily accommodate 7 or 8 people. At Industrial Home, you can fully customize your ceramic dining table in a Danish oval shape, from tabletop style and size to base and color.

Why Ceramic for a Danish Oval Dining Table?

Wood is warm and personal, but it requires maintenance. Fenix is matte and scratch-resistant, but it likes a gentle approach. Ceramic is different: it has the look of marble or natural stone — the veins, the depth, the luxury — but behaves like the simplest material there is. Wiping it with a damp cloth is all you need.

  • Heat-resistant — pans directly on the table, no need for rolled-up trivets
  • Stain-resistant — coffee, wine, olive oil: nothing affects it
  • Scratch-resistant — ceramic is harder than steel, the tabletop remains new for years
  • UV-resistant — the color does not fade, even with a lot of sunlight
  • Hygienic — the non-porous surface does not absorb bacteria or odors

Combine that with the elegant, spacious effect of a Danish oval table shape, and you have a table that can last twenty years without ever looking old.

The Danish Oval Shape — What Makes It Special?

At first glance, a Danish oval dining table looks like a regular oval table — until you examine the ends. Where a standard oval tapers to a point, the Danish oval shape ends in a flattened line. This flattening sounds like a detail, but the effect is significant:

  • An extra chair comfortably fits at each head
  • No guest is "cramped in a corner" — even those at the ends sit well
  • The silhouette looks sleeker and more architectural than a fully round oval
  • The shape combines the softness of an oval with the functionality of a rectangle

That's precisely why the Danish oval shape has been the most requested table shape by Scandinavian design studios for decades — and increasingly by Dutch households as well.

Our Ceramic Danish Oval Dining Tables

Two models in our collection combine ceramic with the Danish oval shape. Both are fully customizable:

Dimensions and Seating

Thanks to the flattened Danish oval ends, the same length offers slightly more seating space than a standard oval or rectangular table. Guideline:

Length Width People Ideal for
160 cm 90 cm 4-6 people Compact dining room
180 cm 90 cm 5-7 people Family table — most requested size
200 cm 100 cm 6-8 people Large family, regular guests
220 cm 100 cm 7-9 people Big family or entertainers
240 cm 100-110 cm 8-10 people Large dining room, dinner parties

Guideline: allow 60-70 cm chair width per person. Slightly more for chairs with armrests.

Which Base Suits a Ceramic Danish Oval Dining Table?

A ceramic tabletop has its own weight and appearance — the base must support it, both literally and visually. The most requested combinations:

  • Butterfly Metal — graceful, artistic, available in matte black, gold or bronze. Contrasts beautifully with the light marble pattern of Calacatta.
  • Trias oak — three slender solid oak legs add warmth to the cool ceramic. Popular in Japandi interiors.
  • Trias metal — sleek three-legged construction in matte black or white, for a more modern look.
  • Matrix oak — organic, crisscross oak base that enhances the Scandinavian character of the Danish oval shape.

With the 3D configurator, you can see every combination instantly — without having to order to know if it's right.

Ceramic Styles: Which Top Is Right for You?

Calacatta Hermitage — Warm Marble

Inspired by the famous Calacatta marble from the Apennines: a warm white top veined with gold and gray. Each top is unique. This is the choice if you want luxury and warmth without it feeling cold or harsh.

Paladium Ivory — Soft Neutrality

A warm ivory-beige ceramic with a subtle texture. Less pronounced than marble, but with the same elegance. Works particularly well in warm, neutral interiors with lots of wood, linen or rattan.

Is a ceramic dining table suitable for outdoors?

Ceramic is UV-resistant and moisture-resistant, but the base (oak or metal) is in most cases not specifically treated for outdoor use. For outdoor use, we recommend contacting us — we are happy to help determine which configuration works best.

Can I place a hot pan directly on the ceramic top?

Yes. Ceramic is resistant to temperatures up to 250°C. You can place pans, oven dishes, and teapots directly on the tabletop without a trivet. The top will remain undamaged.

How do I clean a ceramic dining table?

Wipe with a damp cloth and, if necessary, some all-purpose cleaner. Abrasive cleaners and steel wool are not necessary — and not recommended, as they can dull the surface. For stubborn stains, a little vinegar water works great.

What is the weight of a ceramic dining table?

A ceramic tabletop is heavier than wood or HPL — a 200 cm table can easily weigh 80 to 120 kg. Our delivery team will deliver and assemble the table at your home, so you don't have to lift anything yourself.

Can ceramic break or crack?

Ceramic is extremely hard and scratch-resistant, but like any hard material, it can break from a very severe direct impact or blow to the edge. In normal household use, this is extremely rare. Most customers use their ceramic table for years without any problems.

What is the delivery time?

The delivery time is usually 4 to 6 weeks. After your order, you will receive a confirmation with the expected delivery date. Our delivery personnel deliver by appointment and assemble the table directly upon delivery.

Can I order a ceramic Danish oval dining table in a custom size?

Yes. You can set the exact length, width, and height using the 3D configurator. Do you have a special size or a question about custom work outside the standard? Contact us — we'd be happy to help.
