What makes the herringbone pattern so special?

The dining table herringbone pattern is created by alternately laying wooden planks at a 45-degree angle – similar to the skeleton of a fish. This classic laying pattern has been known for centuries and gives every table a distinctive look. Combined with high-quality solid wood from Europe, a piece of furniture with a biophilic character is created that will last for generations.

Our herringbone tables are made from European oak – one of the most durable and beautiful types of wood. If you prefer the contemporary look of smoked oak, you can select this directly in the configurator. The natural grain and characteristic knots give each table a unique appearance. No two tables are exactly alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does herringbone pattern mean for a table?
The herringbone pattern (also "chevron" or "herringbone") refers to the alternating 45° laying of wooden planks, which resembles the skeleton of a fish. The pattern gives the table dynamic depth and distinguishes it from simple solid wood tables.
What is the delivery time for a custom-made table?
Since each table is custom-made, the delivery time is 4–6 weeks. We will inform you of the exact date after your order.
What wood types are available for the herringbone table?
We manufacture in European oak – natural, smoked, white oiled, or dark stained. Smoked oak has been our most requested trend of the last two years.
Is solid wood susceptible to scratches?
Oiled solid wood shows signs of use over time – this is part of its natural character and is intentional in the Wabi-Sabi sense. Small scratches can be easily removed by sanding and re-oiling. If you prefer a harder surface, choose the lacquered finish.
How do I care for an oiled oak table?
Daily damp wiping is sufficient. Rub with a high-quality wood oil (matching the surface) once a year. Always protect hot pots with coasters.
Is there a warranty on the table?
Yes – we offer a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on all structural defects. Natural wood movements (slight swelling/shrinking) are not a defect, but a sign of genuine solid wood quality.
Can I see the table in the showroom in Germany?
Our showroom is located in The Hague (Netherlands). For German customers, we can arrange a visit on request – or use our 3D configurator to fully visualize the table beforehand.
